This is a page about David, the founder of David's Garden Seeds And Products and about the company.
Hi! My name is David and I love to garden. I started my own company, David's Garden Seeds, in 2009, where I sell high quality, non-GMO garden seeds. If you are looking for "cheap" seeds you have come to the wrong place.
I did not set out to start my own company, but when I returned from working in Iraq for four years and in Afghanistan for one year, I could not force myself to return to the everyday boring routine of an office job. I wanted something that would challenge me.
Growing up dad had a garden. Then it seemed like a bizillion acres but in truth it was only one acre. But that one acre of land put out a lot of stuff. I would spend hot, summer days working in the garden. I hated it. I detested it.
In 1978 I joined the Army. When I returned home, dad asked me to go and do some work in the garden. "Dad," I said. "I promised myself that when I left home, I would never work in a garden again."
Not to many years later, out of necessity, I found myself gardening. It was actually fun now.
My husband, David, is an avid backyard gardener, a sort of city farmer and he has been since he was a teenager. My name is Juanita and no matter where we have lived across the United States, we have always had a garden. David and I raised three children on healthy fruits and vegetables, many of them grown in our own backyard. (Don't get me wrong--we love meat, fish, and chicken as well!)
We've learned to prepare, blanch, freeze, and can fruits and vegetables and we will share recipes and steps with you so you can give your family healthy and tasty homemade dishes as well as save food for later use.
David loves to garden so much that he turned his hobby into a business. It all started with our first gardening site, Vegetable Gardening Made Easier. From there, we set up a store on Amazon to sell our products. Then we changed the old website over to match our company name, David's Garden Seeds And Products. Ta-da! Our company was born! That was seven years ago (2009) and we are growing each year.
Get your whole family involved and make gardening a fun time! Do not approach it as another chore to be done, but as a fun experience so your children will want to help. Let them know it is important to know how to grow your own food because it is healthier and tastier than the produce you get at the store. Then when they are adults, they will continue gardening and pass their gardening knowledge on to their children! Our three children helped when they were young by digging, planting seeds, watering, weeding, and picking the vegetables, under adult supervision, of course. They loved playing in the dirt.
You can involve your children in gardening as they get older. They will learn the valuable skill of planting and growing food so they can have gardens of their own when they are adults.
David's Garden Products are top of the line quality seeds so they cost more than the seeds you buy at discount stores. They are worth it. They grow and produce good quality plants when the package directions are followed. We know because we have used them for years and we continue to test them out in our yard and in our home.
We test all sorts of garden seeds and products. I say "we" but really David is the tester and the "farmer" of our family. He has a green thumb and grows some beautiful vegetables and fruits for us to enjoy. Our backyard is where we grow everything. We have raised garden beds and several do-it-yourself greenhouses, where we try out a lot of the latest products and try growing many of the flowers and vegetables we sell.
You will find a lot of gardening tips and tricks, instructions for planting, sowing, fertilizing, weeding, harvesting, serving ideas, and even some recipes here. The information is free for you, learned by us through trial and error over a lifetime of experience in many climates around the United States.
In 2012, our son, Matt Schulze, joined us full time at David's Garden Seeds.
Our whole team is here to help make your garden planning a great experience!
I have gardened in Colorado, Michigan, Iraq, Afghanistan and Texas. Each place had it own challenges.
I love to spend time out in the garden. But there seems to never be enough time or room to do all that I want to do. Each year I say I am going to grow this, and that and this and that but then I never have enough room.

"Will definitely order from David's Garden Seeds in the future! The
seed-starting tray that I ordered was sent and received in a timely
manner, and, as expected, is very well-made. In addition, the seller
responds to messages very promptly and politely, which is a rarity in a
day and age when a person generally gets stuck on the phone with
elevator music for an eternity!"
