Here is a bit of information about this site and the owners of David's Garden Seeds And Products.
David's Garden Seeds And Products is a business created out of both a hobby and necessity when my husband, David, returned from Afghanistan.
David and I celebrated our 28th wedding anniversary in April of 2015 and David has had a garden every year we have been married. He loves growing his own produce as well as growing flowers, herbs, and trees.
David has always loved to garden and even tried his hand at growing vegetables in Iraq in the 100 degree plus (F) temperatures while he was there.
When he returned from the Middle East after five years of civilian contract work in various countries over there, my husband started to build his first gardening website which we are incorporating into this site.
He started selling our books and DVDs online in September of 2009 to help make ends meet. This went well, so he began to sell garden seeds.
David continued to search for a job and finally found one with a well-known company that was about to open a branch in San Antonio. About 8 months later, the company announced it would close on its one year anniversary of opening here in San Antonio.
Now what? More months of job searching during a horrible recession? David did continue to look for work, but also kept on gardening and wondered if his hobby might actually make him any money...
We decided to write a new website, highlighting some of David's best-selling seeds and products, bearing the name of his company, David's Garden Seeds And Products.
Much to our surprise, five years later, he was getting over 300 orders a day from customers purchasing our quality seeds. We have a team of six people taking customer service calls, ordering, stocking, packing, shipping, marketing, gardening, and building our websites. We are extremely busy and loving every moment of it!
Here are David's own words about this site:
We have designed this site to help the home gardener plant their own garden. The site also shows how to harvest the produce and process the harvest for cooking and storing.
Many websites show only the good and none of the bad so one might think that the home gardener will never have any problems.
This causes the home gardener to think he/she has done something wrong and then he or she just gives up. Things do go wrong in gardening. For instance for the 2011 season, we had no rain here in San Antonio...another summer drought. Things did not grow right or at all.
In then in 2015 we had a lot of rain. My root crops did not grown as planned.
My site shows the good as well as the bad. I show places where I did not plan properly or use good judgment. I try not to sanitize the information I post.
Keep in mind that my pages are dynamic, meaning they are really never complete. There is always more information I can add to them. If a page seems incomplete, it probably is. I am waiting for something to grow or just have not posted the new information yet.
We are always behind on posting pictures.
We hope you have as much fun learning to grow your own vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers as we have had.

"Will definitely order from David's Garden Seeds in the future! The
seed-starting tray that I ordered was sent and received in a timely
manner, and, as expected, is very well-made. In addition, the seller
responds to messages very promptly and politely, which is a rarity in a
day and age when a person generally gets stuck on the phone with
elevator music for an eternity!"
