This page gives instructions on growing marigolds.

Marigolds are popular to grow because of its ability to bloom brightly all summer long.  Marigolds have flower heads that look like a cross between a daisy and a carnation.

When choosing a location to grow Marigolds, keep in mind the flowers need a lot of sunshine and well-drained, moderately fertile (although they will grow in most soils).  You can either sow Marigold seeds directly into the ground once the last frost has past and the soil is warm, or you can start the seeds indoors 4-6 weeks before the last spring frost.

If starting Marigold flowers indoors, know the seeds germinate easily, so be on the lookout for damping off.  You’ll also want to separate the seedlings when they reach a height of 2 inches.  Plant these seedlings in flats of loose soil (make sure you use a soil-base potting mix if you’re planting marigolds in containers), or transplant them to the garden!

Space the marigold seedlings 2-3 feet, although, lower-growing ones will do fine 1 foot apart.  Marigolds should bloom within a few weeks.

Marigolds don’t need a lot of water.  After watering your marigolds, wait until the soil dries a bit before watering again.  Also when watering, don’t water the flowers from overhead, but water at the base of the plant.

Do not fertilize marigolds because a rich diet will prevent lush foliage-basically marigolds bloom better in bad soil.

Add your marigolds to any floral arrangement, or just enjoy the flowers in a vase by themselves.  Happy Gardening!
