Happy Saturday!

Happy Saturday and Happy Final Saturday in October! This month has whizzed right on by. Next Saturday evening, we will be setting the clocks back an hour and getting that extra hour of sleep!

Our fall garden is doing well. We have squash, green beans, corn, and cucumbers growing and producing. A cool front hit here just a few days ago, giving us some relief from the horrible heat we have been enduring so it feels a bit like heaven to us!

Did you know that if you live in a warm climate like San Antonio that there is still time to plant your fall garden? Yes, with root crops. If you live in the southern United States of America, you can plant carrots, beets, turnips, and onions and get a fall harvest but you will need to hurry and get those seeds in the ground.

Below are links to our root crop seeds.

Root crops like the cooler weather. If there is a freak frost before you harvest, your root vegetables are protected by being down in the ground so they will not be affected by a mild frost.

As the weather cools down, you will have delicious fresh vegetables to harvest and cook with your meals. Think savory roasts with veggies, soups and stews and so much more!
