Grow Peas!

Time To Dream About Fresh Peas!

This week, we are focusing on growing delicious, fresh garden peas that you can easily grow in your backyard garden.

Who doesn't love Sugar Snap Peas eaten raw as a sweet snack? Or fresh, buttered, hot peas out of the pod?

We have a wonderful variety of pea seeds from regular everyday peas to snap peas to snow peas. You can find all of our Pea Seeds here.

There are three types of peas. English peas, Snow Peas and Sugar Snap Peas.

English or Shelling Peas have pods that cannot be eaten. The peas are plump and delicious when they are ready to cook and eat.

Snap peas are the round-pod type of edible-pod peas, distinct from snow peas, which have flat, edible pods. Pick snap peas when both the peas and the pods are plump and "snap" like a fresh green bean. Eat the pods and peas together like snow peas.

Snow peas are flat pods that are great in stir fry dishes.

Peas can be grown in as little as 50 days up to 72 days, depending on the variety.

You can find our pea seeds on our website, David's Garden Seeds Pea Seeds as well as on Amazon. Prime members will get free two day shipping when they buy on Amazon. Just make sure the collection starts with "David's Garden Seeds" because Amazon puts other companies' seeds in our Amazon store. Ours will always start with David's Garden Seeds.
