Grow Corn This Spring!

Grow Corn This Spring

David's offers a line of corn varieties selected for superior performance, yield, quality and flavor, to suit the needs of discerning home gardeners.

Our line of open-pollinated, heirloom, and traditionally bred fresh-eating varieties includes old-fashioned sweet corn, super sweet corn, normal, sugary enhanced and synergistic sweet types with white, yellow, and bi-color kernels, with varying maturity dates and disease resistance packages. Our dry corns include flour, dent and ornamental corns.

This week, we are focusing on growing corn that you can easily grow in your backyard garden this spring. Corn likes warm weather. Make sure all danger of frost is past before you plant it. Choose full sun and plant it in short rows next to each other. Do not plant it all in one long row or you will have to hand pollinate it all.

We have corn seed varieties in the following types:

Dent Corn

Ornamental Corn

Popcorn Corn

Sugar Enhanced Corn

Super Sweet Corn

Sweet Corn

Sweet Corn

Sweet Corn is everyone's favorite and you can grow it in your backyard and enjoy it fresh off the stalk. A stalk grows one ear. The trick growing any type of corn is to plant short rows of corn next to each other.
