Beautiful Seeds, Strong Plants, Great Tomatoes

by Garry Roseman
(Utah)

I've grown my own tomatoes for several years from my own saved seed. When I saw David's tomato seeds I was impressed with how perfectly these seeds had been handled. I bought half a dozen types of seeds from David last year and every one pack had beautiful seeds -- clean, separated, as if processed with great love.

I planted 24 of these indigo rose tomato seeds in seed starting mix and kept them on a seedling heating mat (I start seeds in an inside but unheated room that gets quite cold at night during the weeks that tomatoes need to be started). Transplanted all of them to large pots when they were 4 inches tall and had their true leaves. Transplanted them out to the garden when they were a foot or more tall and they become strong and productive compact plants (almost as tall as me by season's end). These seeds gave me a heavy crop of delicious tomatoes with a "different" and, to me, wonderful taste with almost a berry quality.

All of the variety information on the David's Garden Seeds® website, including the days to maturity, color and size are based on data from tests done at specific locations. Many factors, including geographic location, daytime and nighttime temperatures, the availability of plant nutrients, many unknown climate factors and insects/pest interact to determine a variety's performance. For information on which varieties will perform best in your area, we recommend that you contact your local county extension agent or a Master Gardener.
