An enduring favorite, Ageratum houstonianum is ideal in pots or containers, beds, borders, and the pollinator garden. An annual, Ageratum prefers fertile soil with good drainage and full sun (it will tolerate partial sun where summers are hot). Our selection of Ageratum seeds consists of tall varieties ideal for cut-flower production. The charming blooms range from shades of lavender to pink, mauve, and white, and perform well in fresh or dried bouquets. Ageratum is also known as floss flower or blue mink.

Dondo Blue adds easy garden color in borders or containers from summer until frost. Ageratum flowers produce Seuss-like blossoms that are fuzzy and compact.  Small in stature but big in interest, Ageratum are ideal border or accent plants as they are heat tolerant and grow no bigger than two feet tall. All of the variety information on the David's Garden Seeds® website, including the days to maturity, color and size are based on data from tests done at specific locations. Many factors, including geographic location, daytime and nighttime temperatures, the availability of plant nutrients, many unknown climate factors and insects/pest interact to determine a variety's performance. For information on which varieties will perform best in your area, we recommend that you contact your local county extension agent or a Master Gardener.
