Chili peppers are typically grown as annuals, though they are perennial in their native tropical climates. Hot peppers will continue to produce as long as they do not freeze. Hot peppers contain capsaicin, which is what makes them spicy.

Pepper Chili Chiltepin 50 Non-GMO, Heirloom Seeds
$4.45
Chiltepin Chili Pepper Seeds are open pollinated seeds. We rank this one among the top 10 hottest peppers on the market, although some rate it even higher on the heat scale. Don't be fooled by the unassuming size of these pea-like, 1/2 inch fruits - they pack a wallop! Prolific, 8 to 10 inch bushes produce extremely hot fruits whose small size is very versatile in recipes. Harvest in 90 days.
Pepper Chili Fresno 50 Non-GMO, Heirloom Seeds
$4.45
Named in honor of Fresno, California (Go Bulldogs!), this pepper is often confused with jalapenos, but instead Fresnos have thinner walls, often milder heat, and less time to maturity. Immature green Fresno peppers are more versatile with a mild heat, and can be added to many types of dishes. Green Fresnos can also be pickled and eaten whole. Mature, red Fresnos provide less flavor, but more heat. Plant produces good yields of 3 inch long by 1 ¼ inches wide hot peppers. Peppers are very hot and turn from green to red when mature. Plant has green stems, dark green leaves, and white flowers. Excellent for roasting, pickling, or for making salsa. Disease Resistant: Tobacco Mosia. Harvest in about 85 days.
