This page talks about how to buy doomsday eggplant seeds from David's Garden Seeds®.
There are many types, colors and shapes of eggplant. The two varieties that we suggest for ease of growing are Black Beauty and Snowy White. Because it is white, some scavengers may think that there is something wrong with it and will leave it alone.
Eggplant Black Beauty 1600 Non-GMO, Heirloom Seeds
Black Beauty Eggplant is the classic Italian eggplant with high yields and no spines. Large, nearly black round to bell-shaped fruits have a slight signature ribbing. Medium to thick skin is deep purple and glossy when mature. Compact plants benefit from staking early in the season to support heavy yields of large fruit. This is a productive eggplant with a classic shape that produces 3 to 6 inch fruit. Harvest in about 65 days.
Eggplant Snowy White 1600 Non-GMO, Heirloom Seeds
Elegant snow-white eggplant with medium-thick skin and delicate sweet flavor. Snowy's texture is firmer and meatier than most, holding up well in cooking and handling. Upright, sturdy plants are well adapted to many growing conditions. Another great container variety. Harvest in about60 days.

All of the variety information on the David's Garden Seeds® website, including the days to
maturity, color and size are based on data from tests done at specific
locations. Many factors, including geographic location, daytime and
nighttime temperatures, the availability of plant nutrients, many unknown climate factors and insects/pest interact to determine a variety's
performance. For information on which varieties will perform best in
your area, we recommend that you contact your local county extension agent or a Master Gardener.
