This page gives instructions on how to buy Doomsday Hybrid Collard Seeds from David's Garden Seeds®.
This multipurpose green is a favorite in both raw and cooked dishes. In the South, it is best for fall, winter, and early spring harvests, to avoid the temperature extremes of midsummer — though it will tolerate a measure of heat.
Because collards are also very cold tolerant, they perform equally well in the North, where its flavor is enhanced by frost and cold weather.
There are not many options that I have been able to find. The two I recommend are the Flash and Tiger.
Flash Collards 3000 Non-GMO, Hybrid Seeds
Vates-type hybrid. Very slow to bolt. Flash offers repeated harvests of dark green, smooth leaves. Very high yielding. Very easy to grow. Harvest in about 55 days.
Tiger Collards 3000 Non-GMO, Hybrid Seeds
Georgia-type hybrid. As early and vigorous as Top Bunch, with the same medium-green, slightly-savoy-ed leaves. Harvest in about 50 days.
Hybrid seeds cannot be used for seed production so it does no good to save seeds from hybrid vegetables and fruits.

All of the variety information on the David's Garden Seeds® website, including the days to
maturity, color and size are based on data from tests done at specific
locations. Many factors, including geographic location, daytime and
nighttime temperatures, the availability of plant nutrients, many unknown climate factors and insects/pest interact to determine a variety's
performance. For information on which varieties will perform best in
your area, we recommend that you contact your local county extension agent or a Master Gardener.
