This page gives instructions on how to buy Doomsday Hybrid Corn Seeds from David's Garden Seeds®.
When picking out a corn variety, you have two options from dent and sweet. Dent corn is the corn you grind down to make a host of items and is also good as animal feed. You can eat it fresh but it is not sweet. Once dried and properly stored, the kernels can last for years.
You can also grow sweet corn. But the window for picking and eating is small. Once it matures it has to be picked and eaten within two weeks. Any time past this and the sweet flavor starts to deteriorate.
This is the only hybrid I have been able to find. Dent corn that is multi-colored like the American Pride is usually called ornamental corn. This is a productive hybrid ornamental corn with classy, vibrant colors. It is great for storage or grinding for corn meal. All those colors will make a pretty corn meal.
