Due to circumstances beyond our control we are no longer filling orders for sets. Our turn around time is about 4 days now compared to one to two under normal circumstances. Most of our suppliers are out of inventory, are not filling orders or are taking longer than usual to complete our orders. In light of this, we are no longer back ordering any thing. This scene is changing faster than we can update the website so it may show something in stock that is not. We will fill with inventory we have and refund what we do not have. Thank you for your understanding.

This page gives instructions on how to buy Doomsday Hybrid Corn Seeds from David's Garden Seeds®.
When picking out a corn variety, you have two options from dent and sweet. Dent corn is the corn you grind down to make a host of items and is also good as animal feed. You can eat it fresh but it is not sweet. Once dried and properly stored, the kernels can last for years.
You can also grow sweet corn. But the window for picking and eating is small. Once it matures it has to be picked and eaten within two weeks. Any time past this and the sweet flavor starts to deteriorate.
Corn Ornamental Corn American Pride 1500 Non-GMO, Hybrid Seeds
This is the only hybrid I have been able to find. Dent corn that is multi-colored like the American Pride is usually called ornamental corn. This is a productive hybrid ornamental corn with classy, vibrant colors. It is great for storage or grinding for corn meal. All those colors will make a pretty corn meal.
Corn Sugar Pearl 1000 Non-GMO, Hybrid Seeds
7 1/2 to 8 inches long, fancy, tapered ears have sparkling white kernels. Excellent eating quality and tip cover. The cool soil germination is average. Harvest in about 90 days.
Corn Sugar Buns 1000 Non-GMO, Hybrid Seeds
The 7 inch, 14-row ears have relatively narrow, deep kernels, making a nice package. 5-6 feet sturdy plants. Best at latitude 38° and higher. Intermediate resistance to northern corn leaf blight and Stewart's wilt. Harvest in about 70 days.
Keep in mind that hybrid seeds are not good for seed reproduction.

All of the variety information on the David's Garden Seeds® website, including the days to
maturity, color and size are based on data from tests done at specific
locations. Many factors, including geographic location, daytime and
nighttime temperatures, the availability of plant nutrients, many unknown climate factors and insects/pest interact to determine a variety's
performance. For information on which varieties will perform best in
your area, we recommend that you contact your local county extension agent or a Master Gardener.
