This page gives instructions on how to buy doomsday hybrid pumpkin seeds from David's Garden Seeds®. When it comes to pumpkins, you will not find a versatile plant. You can harvest the seeds, roast them, and then eat them. And you can take the pumpkin "meat," bake it, and make pumpkin dishes that you can eat. And pumpkins will keep for months on the shelf. They come in many types, sizes, and colors.
For regular orange pumpkins, David recommends the Champion which can get up to 30 pounds and the Porcelain Doll which is more pink than orange but has great tasting "meat."
For white pumpkins, which may discourage scavengers, David recommends the Moonshine and Stella Luna. These weigh 10 to 12 pounds with great disease resistance and excellent shelf storage time.
