I got these seeds because years ago someone gave me a Dianthus plant and I love them - they have done really well in my yard ever since I took them out of the planter they were gifted to me in and put them in the ground. I planted the seeds according to the package directions - but added more seeds than recommends and they immediately germinated and are currently about 1 inch high after about 1 month. I am excited to have a full bed full of them. I love to watch them grow. And since I over planted them, I have also already transplanted some to a few other beds. I love how hardy Dianthus are - and hope that these little seeds turn into robust plants.
All of the variety information on the David's Garden Seeds® website, including the days to
maturity, color and size are based on data from tests done at specific
locations. Many factors, including geographic location, daytime and
nighttime temperatures, the availability of plant nutrients, many unknown climate factors and insects/pest interact to determine a variety's
performance. For information on which varieties will perform best in
your area, we recommend that you contact your local county extension agent or a Master Gardener.
