This page talks about field trips, tours and classes that take place at David's Garden Seeds®.
We probably will not be able to start these until the spring of 2021. We still have a lot of work to do. We now have classroom space and public bathrooms that are not outhouses.
It is our plan to offer field trips out here where children can come and learn about farming. We will have animals (not to pet), a garden area, composting area, a worm garden, a keyhole garden and an orchard outside (so far, most of the orchard trees died when temperatures plunged into the 20s).
We will have a classroom equipped with a kitchen so children can cook what they have picked. We can also show them how to can and store food.
We will offer gardening classes. We will show people how to have a fall garden and a summer garden. There are things that will grow in the Texas heat.
We have our retail store.
We will have an area with a pond where one can sit and relax.
We will have a gazebo area where people can have picnics, parties and rustic weddings.
I see lots of exciting days ahead.

All of the variety information on the David's Garden Seeds® website, including the days to
maturity, color and size are based on data from tests done at specific
locations. Many factors, including geographic location, daytime and
nighttime temperatures, the availability of plant nutrients, many unknown climate factors and insects/pest interact to determine a variety's
performance. For information on which varieties will perform best in
your area, we recommend that you contact your local county extension agent or a Master Gardener.
