Kakai Pumpkin

by Patrice

I am happy to see that others had good germination. I was not so fortunate. Only 5 of the 25 seeds germinated. I live in Iowa and planted around the 10th of May. Very disappointed. On the bright side, those 5 seeds have produced numerous pumpkins and I am anxious to open them up to check out the seeds.
As an aside, I am a very experienced gardener and have grown many vining plants such as traditional pumpkins, melons, squash, and cucumbers for over 40 years. I have one 20 x 40 ft garden dedicated only to vines. I had no germination problems with the other plants in that garden.
UPDATE 11/2018: When the vines dried up,THOSE 5 PLANTS HAD PRODUCED OVER 40 PUMPKINS! Approximately a cup of seeds per pumpkin and each seed was probably 3 times larger than i expected. The flavor was amazing. Definitely planting again.

Kakai Pumpkin Seeds

Hi Patrice,
So glad you had a good experience with the seeds that grew. The Kakai is one we have not had a problem with. They are tasty and we get close to 100% germination each year.
Thank you for choosing David's Garden Seeds®.
