Kakai Pumpkins

by Hephzibah

Best seeds! Best germination rate! Seeds were over a year old! Planted 5 seeds (indoors in a window with some sunlight) in April. Didn't give it much attention. Surprise surprise! All the seeds sprouted! I'm in zone 5 and just yesterday (accidentally) harvested a 10.45 pounds! Extracted < 1 cup of seeds! Delicious even when eaten raw. I probably 'harvested' too early but the trade off was fantastic tasting tender, sweet, non fibrous delicious flesh! Taste was better than spaghetti squash! One plant had four pumpkins with two exceptionally huge (>10 lbs) ones! Maybe I'm just Blessed! GOD LOVES ME;) Get David's seeds!

We Love Kakai Pumpkins, Too!
by: Juanita

Hi Hephzibah! Thank you for the photos and all of the detail regarding the Kakai Pumpkin. It is an unusual pumpkin that delivers! So glad you are enjoying them.
Our seeds come in a mini ziplock bag (all except for our large seeds) so they will stay fresh for up to three years as long as you keep them in a cool, dry place inside. Just don't store them outside in the heat or in your garden shed. Yes, God does love you!

All of the variety information on the David's Garden Seeds® website, including the days to maturity, color and size are based on data from tests done at specific locations. Many factors, including geographic location, daytime and nighttime temperatures, the availability of plant nutrients, many unknown climate factors and insects/pest interact to determine a variety's performance. For information on which varieties will perform best in your area, we recommend that you contact your local county extension agent or a Master Gardener.
