Update: over twenty of the plants grew to maturity. Now getting lots of peppers ready to pick. At first we tried some green and yellow peppers, and they weren’t hot at all. Just today a bunch of peppers are ready to harvest. Bright red, and wrinkled. And HOT HOT HOT. The picture shows two of the harvested peppers. We cut one into small pieces and added to sausage peppers and onion hero’s. WOW... with five or so bits of pepper in each sandwich the heat just keeps coming.
I wanted to try growing ghost pepper plants and took a chance with these seeds. Taking the advice of other growers, I soaked the seeds in water in the fridge for 24 hours. All of them eventually drifted to the bottom, which was apparently a good sign. Planted on April 6 under Atopsun 600 Watt LED grow light, the seeds started growing in about a week and a half. As of today, 23 of the 25 seeds are sprouting. The earliest ones already have four leaves. Nothing else special, used Miracle Gro potting soil and peat seed starter cups.

All of the variety information on the David's Garden Seeds® website, including the days to
maturity, color and size are based on data from tests done at specific
locations. Many factors, including geographic location, daytime and
nighttime temperatures, the availability of plant nutrients, many unknown climate factors and insects/pest interact to determine a variety's
performance. For information on which varieties will perform best in
your area, we recommend that you contact your local county extension agent or a Master Gardener.
